About us
Indie Genius Productions began in November 2001 shortly after learning that one of the first documentary films we worked on, Thoth, had been nominated for the 2002 Academy Awards for Best Documentary – Short form.
Since then, Indie Genius has continued producing and working on award-winning documentaries such as Your Mommy Kills Animals and American Drug War. IGP has also produced many commercials, videos, and ad campaigns along with being social media influencers.
We only take on projects that we are absolutely passionate about as that has been our motto since we began.

Producer, Director, Writer
Award-winning filmmaker Curt Johnson has been working in film since college beginning with the Academy Award winning "Common Threads: Stories From the Quilt" and "Thoth." His last controversial film "Your Mommy Kills Animals" won numerous awards along with critical acclaim. He is currently working on "Discarded America" and the Native American-themed "Sunrise.
